Image
Food for Thought: 15. YOU ARE NOT FORGOTTEN! Your Miracle Is Certain!! Have you been saying in your heart, “Where is God?” “Has He forgotten me?” Or, “Is He going to do it at all?” The Food for Thought is YOU ARE NOT FORGOTTEN ! God can never forget you. It is not in His nature! Let us consider certain scriptures: 1. Hebrews 13:5b , “For He Himself has said I will never leave you nor forsake you”. Be content and grateful for now, knowing that He is with you.” 2. Isaiah 49:16 , “See I have inscribed you on the palms of my hands; your walls are continually before me.” Since YOU ARE INSCRIBED, that is, CARVED ON HIS PALMS, and He sees you and your situations every time, THEN He cannot forget you! The Bible says that His promises are also yea and amen. He watches over His Word to fulfill it. He is not a man that He should lie Nor the son of man that He should repent. He said His Word will not come back to Him void, But it w...

14. A POWERFUL LIFE GUIDE

Image
Food for Thought: 14. A POWERFUL LIFE GUIDE Psalm One is an amazing scripture! All through this Year and for the rest of your life, this wonderful psalm is, and will continue to be a powerful guide. Why? Verse 1 says, “Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful.” In other words, do not make companions of people whose lifestyles are not in line with God's principles. Verse 2 admonishes you to be a man or woman who meditates or ponders on God's word. Pondering on His word every minute keeps you on top and your focus on the things of God, thereby helping you do right. Verse 3 talks about the abundant blessings that will be yours as you abide by verses 1 and 2. These will make you a blessing to others. Verses 4 and 5 reveal the outcome for the ungodly. I pray that the unfortunate experience of the ungodly will not be your lot in Jesus' name. But know d...

13. GOD IS FAITHFUL

Image
Food for Thought: 13. GOD IS FAITHFUL As the Year rolls away, you are probably thinking...  “The things I have believed God for have not yet happened, and another year is almost gone by.”  But …I want to let you know what The Bible says about the faithfulness of God. 1.   In Numbers 23:19 , “God is not a man that He should lie, nor a son of man that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?” 2.   Isaiah 55:11 , “So shall my word be that goes forth from my mouth; it shall not return to me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it”. 3.   2 Corinthians 1:20 , “For all the promises of God in Him are yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us”. 4.   Matthew 24:35 , “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will by no means pass away”. I urge you to continue believing God and His Word. You will definite...

12. WHY ARE YOU ON EARTH?

Image
Food for Thought: 12. WHY ARE YOU ON EARTH? Although you have to work to earn to live comfortably, I want you to know that your primary assignment on earth Is to fulfill God's purpose on earth and make heaven. And how will you achieve this? First , you need to give your life to Christ. Second , get into His Word to know Him more and understand His purpose. These will put you on the pathway to Heaven, and to experience God's miracles on earth. What we observe today, however, is the almost inordinate craving and drive to attain financial and social significance, much to the detriment of making heaven. With everything we do in life, let us be heavenly minded in particular. God has promised that when we seek His kingdom first, all the things we pursue - status, wealth, power, etc - will be added, and easily too ! According to 1 John 3:3, “...Everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure”. The hope that one day we sh...

11. BE YOURSELF

Image
Food for Thought: 11. BE YOURSELF Many people live pretentious lives. It is very important to really know who you are, based on your ability, finances, background and level. You need to believe in yourself and not put on a façade.   It helps in how you relate with people. You also need to know what God says about you in His Word. It will give you confidence in yourself. Let's see some things that The Bible says ABOUT YOU: -   I will praise You, for I am FEARFULLY AND WONDERFULLY MADE ; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well. (Psalm 139:14) -   And the Lord will make you THE HEAD AND NOT THE TAIL ; you shall be ABOVE ONLY AND NEVER BENEATH , if you heed the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you today, and are careful to observe them. (Deuteronomy 28:13) -   For who has known the mind of Lord that he may instruct Him? But we HAVE THE MIND OF CHRIST . (1 Cor. 2:16) Learn more about who you are ...

10. FAITH IN GOD...The Right Thing!

Image
Food for Thought: 10. FAITH IN GOD … The Right Thing! To have Faith in God is to believe in His word, even though there is no physical evidence. Numbers 13 and 14 talks about the unbelief of the Israelites. - They did not believe that God could take them into the promise land evidenced by the negative report given by the spies Moses sent to spy out the promise land. - As a result, God said none of them would enter the promise land, except Joshua and Caleb who believed in God's promise that they were able. Hebrews 4:2b states, "But the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it", referring to the Israelites while they were in the wilderness. Later on, verses 11 and 12 said, "Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest (through faith) lest anyone fall according to the example of disobedience... for the word (of God) is living and powerful". (Emphasis mine) You need to have unwavering ...

9. FAITHFUL IS HE…

Image
Food for Thought: 9. FAITHFUL IS HE… Our God is a faithful God. He watches over His word to fulfill it. He is not a man that should lie, or a son of man that should repent. God is the creator of heaven and earth. He holds all things in His hands, the Rock of ages, the Lifter of heads, Jehovah Rapha and The Great I AM. What is it that you need or you want to become? Bible says, "All things are possible to him who believes." (Mark 9:23). All you need to do is become a covenant child of God and put your trust in Him. The Bible says, "...Without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a Rewarder of those who diligently seek Him."(Hebrews 11:6). Nothing so pleases God as a steadfast faith in all that He is and promises to do. Through faith in God, you receive all you need. This in turn also gives you opportunities to be a blessing to others. God is real. Have faith in God and see Him wo...

8. THE GRACE OF GOD

Image
Food for Thought: 8. THE GRACE OF GOD Every New Year, you probably have a number of resolutions, promises and determinations made to ensure you do better that year. But …Why do we sometimes make resolutions and do not achieve them? One reason is, we lack the will-power to accomplish due to temptations, disappointments and waning desires. The only antidote is the Grace of God. According to Strong's Exhaustive Concordance, Grace is translated from the word 'Charis'. It also means Graciousness. It is spiritual, a divine influence upon your heart and it reflects. Grace is the enablement given by God to accomplish human impossibilities. It involves an exchange of your ability for God's ability. A man of God once said, 'Grace is the supernatural power that eliminates all struggles and brings powerful results’. The Apostle Paul understood the value of Grace. He said, “But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me wa...

6. ARE YOU A MAN OF YOUR WORD?

Image
Food for Thought: 6. ARE YOU A MAN OF YOUR WORD? It has been said, “Your word is your bond”, But are you bound by your word? Do people easily believe you when you speak Or do they raise their noses and walk off? Do you make promises just to make yourself popular? The Bible warns, “be slow to speak and quick to hear” (James 1:19), also “let your YES be YES and NO be NO” (Matthew 5:37, EMPHASIS mine). Being a man of your word will make people trust you. It will give you confidence. Remember, your family, co- workers and friends need someone whose word they can depend on. Be that person. Beware! You will give account of every idle word you speak, (Matthew 12:36). Be bold. Make only promises that you can keep. ...STAND BY YOUR WORD TODAY! VAB, Lagos.  .................

5. GIVER OR TAKER?

Image
Food for Thought: 5. GIVER OR TAKER? The Collins Dictionary states the meaning of Give - To, bestow, confer ownership of, deliver, impart”; while Take  is, "To grasp or take hold of." As an Employer, Employee, Child, Husband or Wife, do you usually take much more than you give? To know your status, ask yourself, “Do people leave my presence feeling better or worse?” Giving is not limited to money or physical items.  You can also give time, forgiveness, encouragement and even prayers. Whatever you have to give is already a gift from God to you. Do you willingly give any of these to others? Or do you only expect them to give to you? The Bible states, “Give and it shall be given to you, good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.” (Luke 6:38) Be a Giver not just a Taker. And even when you give, make sure it is befitting in ca...

4. ARE YOU LOYAL?

Image
Food for Thought: 4. ARE YOU LOYAL? Loyalty  ...Is a very sensitive word!  You want to ask yourself, when does one stop being loyal?  Loyalty is about commitment / alignment to the ideals of another because of the position or responsibility being given. The Wordweb defines Loyalty as,"The act of binding yourself ( intellectually or emotionally) to a course of action." Considering the above, are you Loyal to your family, boss, organization, church, your Department in church and the society?  Loyalty is reciprocal. As A Leader: * You should be loyal to subordinate you require loyalty from. As A Subordinate: * When your actions do not align with the ideals of the responsibilities given you, you become disloyal. When your personal ideals come into conflict with those of your given responsibilities, there will be need for Discussion, Negotiations and (possibly) Compromises. Discussion : Present your views of your confl...
