14. A POWERFUL LIFE GUIDE

Psalm One is an amazing scripture! All through this Year and for the rest of your life, this wonderful psalm is, and will continue to be a powerful guide.

Why?

Verse 1 says, “Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful.” In other words, do not make companions of people whose lifestyles are not in line with God's principles.

Verse 2 admonishes you to be a man or woman who meditates or ponders on God's word. Pondering on His word every minute keeps you on top and your focus on the things of God, thereby helping you do right.

Verse 3 talks about the abundant blessings that will be yours as you abide by verses 1 and 2. These will make you a blessing to others.

Verses 4 and 5 reveal the outcome for the ungodly. I pray that the unfortunate experience of the ungodly will not be your lot in Jesus' name. But know definitely that the way of the wicked shall perish.

In conclusion, Verse 6 presents a great encouragement for the godly. The Living Bible translation of this verse says, “For the Lord watches over all the plans and paths of godly men”. He's watching over you this year.

The process and results are definite and assured:
- Be Full of God's Word. 
- You will automatically act it out.
- And you will ultimately experience all these wonderful things

Food for Thought 26. GOD SEES THE WHOLE PICTURE Someone shared this with me about Joseph. Read Genesis Chapter 37 and from Chapters 39 to 50. Joseph had a dream. He told his brothers about it. They became jealous and sold him into slavery. Although Joseph became a slave in Potiphar's house, life started looking good again until Potiphar's wife demanded sex from him. Joseph refused, chose to be godly and ran away ... but Potiphar's wife framed him with attempted rape!  Suddenly life feels rough again, and Joseph wonders. " Oh God, why me? What are you doing to me? What about my dreams of greatness?" It seemed Joseph's brothers and Potiphar's wife had conquered Joseph. Despite all these troubles, however,God Himself had already seen the whole picture of Joseph's life from beginning to end. FEAR GOD Exodus 1:15 -17 "Then the King of Egypt spoke to the Hebrew midwives, of whom the name of one was Shiphrah and the name of the other Puah; and he said, "When you do the duties of a midwife for the Hebrew women, and see them on the birthstools, if it is a son, then you shall kill him; but if it is a daughter, then she shall live." But the midwives FEARED GOD and did not do as the King of Egypt commanded them but saved the male children alive. It is very important and rewarding to fear God. 'Fear God' means you put God First in your Thoughts and Actions. "Therefore God dealt well with the midwives and the people multiplied and grew very mighty. And so it was, because the midwives feared God, that He provided households for them.
