11. BE YOURSELF
Food for Thought:
11. BE YOURSELF
Many
people live pretentious lives. It is very important to really know who you are,
based on your ability, finances, background and level.
You
need to believe in yourself and not put on a façade. It helps in how you relate with people.
You
also need to know what God says about you in His Word. It will give you
confidence in yourself.
Let's
see some things that The Bible says ABOUT YOU:
- I will praise You, for I am FEARFULLY AND
WONDERFULLY MADE; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows
very well. (Psalm 139:14)
- And the Lord will make you THE HEAD AND NOT
THE TAIL; you shall be ABOVE ONLY AND NEVER BENEATH, if you heed the commandments
of the Lord your God, which I command you today, and are careful to observe
them. (Deuteronomy 28:13)
- For who has known the mind of Lord that he
may instruct Him? But we HAVE THE MIND OF CHRIST. (1 Cor. 2:16)
Learn
more about who you are in Christ by reading the Bible.
Pretending
to be who you are not, or putting on a false front leads you to being
surrounded by pretenders
…And
it sometimes make it difficult for you
to
find the right life partner.
Don't
boast about who you are not
And
be real with everyone you come in contact with.
Do
not be like Ananias and his wife.
They
wanted to be like other believers who sold their possessions and brought the
full proceeds to the Apostles for further distribution (Acts 5:1-11). Instead,
they sold their land and deceitfully kept back some of the proceeds. Nobody
would have questioned or penalized them if they had not sold the land, or even
if they had decided not to bring in the full sale amount.
In
conclusion,
Know
your level in terms of your finances, faith and in any other thing.
If
you pretend to be where and what you are not,
You
will struggle throughout life. This is not God's will for you.
Be
who God has made you to be!
Be
real. Be yourself!
