7. LOVER OF GOD OR THE WORLD?

The Bible states, “No servant serves two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other” - Luke 16:13

It also says, “Stop loving the evil world and all that it offers you, for when you love these things you show that you do not really love God; for all these worldly things, these evil desires - the craze for sex, the ambition to buy everything that appeals to you, and the pride that comes from wealth and importance - these are not from God”
-1 Jn 2:15 -17 (The Living Bible, Copyright 1971)

Do you love God or the world?

Loving God causes you to do the right thing by obeying His commands.
Loving the world and its desires causes you to sin against God and humanity.
It also hinders you from appreciating Him through praise and worship.

Love is the basis of Christian living.
When you love God, it shows in your relationship with people.
Love is what you owe everybody, and every human being is your neighbor.

In this season of love, reflect this love and be a blessing. Love the Lord more than life.

Be a lover of God!

Although you have to work to earn to live comfortably, I want you to know that your primary assignment on earth Is to fulfill God's purpose on earth and make heaven. And how will you achieve this? First , you need to give your life to Christ. Second , get into His Word to know Him more and understand His purpose. These will put you on the pathway to Heaven, and to experience God's miracles on earth. What we observe today, however, is the almost inordinate craving and drive to attain financial and social significance, much to the detriment of making heaven. With everything we do in life, let us be heavenly minded in particular. God has promised that when we seek His kingdom first, all the things we pursue - status, wealth, power, etc - will be added, and easily too ! Food for Thought  21. FRIENDS, PLANS, YOUR DECISIONS!   2nd Chronicles chapters 17- 20 tells the story of a man Jehoshaphat A King ...and The Lord was with him! Why? The Lord was with Jehoshaphat because... -He walked in the ways of his ancestral father David -He sought the God of his ancestral father  And walked in His commandments Therefore the LORD established the Kingdom  In King Jehoshaphat's hand And his heart took delight in the ways of the Lord.  However, in time, he went to war alongside a wicked King ...Ahab, his father-in-law! This alliance with the wicked got Jehoshaphat into a life threatening situation But for God's intervention in chapter 18 verse 31!
